[Remote] Legal Assistant

Salehi Boyer Lavigne Lombana, P.A. is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join their fast-paced litigation team handling insurance defense matters. The role involves supporting attorneys in high volume litigation through various tasks including scheduling, document preparation, and file management.
Responsibilities
- Manage litigation files from intake through resolution
- Maintain attorney calendars, deadlines, hearings, mediations, depositions, and trial related tasks
- Schedule hearings, depositions, inspections, mediations, and client meetings
- Draft and issue template discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admissions
- Prepare discovery responses, objections, and related document production support
- Draft and issue non party notices and subpoenas to medical providers, employers, vendors, custodians of records, and other third parties
- Track subpoena compliance and follow up to ensure timely production
- Obtain, organize, and summarize records, invoices, photographs, estimates, claim documents, medical records, and billing materials
- Assist with deposition preparation, including exhibits, chronologies, and document organization
- Coordinate with attorneys, clients, adjusters, experts, vendors, court reporters, and opposing counsel
- Assist with e filing, service, case management updates, and litigation task tracking
- Ensure files remain organized, current, and ready for hearings, mediations, and trial
- Support trial preparation as needed
Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a legal assistant in an insurance defense firm
- Florida residence required
- Strong experience with discovery, subpoenas, scheduling, calendaring, and litigation file management
- Familiarity with Florida civil procedure, e filing, and litigation deadlines
- Ability to manage high volume litigation files efficiently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organization, follow through, and attention to detail
- Proficiency with case management systems, Microsoft Office, and e filing platforms
- Experience with first party property defense and general liability defense preferred
- Experience working with insurance carriers, adjusters, and institutional clients preferred
