[Remote] Junior Python Developer
Note The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is hiring a Junior Python Developer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs. In this role, you will assist in developing and integrating backend services using Python, collaborating with senior developers to improve claims processing for Veterans.
Responsibilities
- Assist with development and integration of backend services using Python
- Collaborate with senior developers to implement, test, and maintain APIs and other integration solutions
- Write clean, efficient, and reusable Python code, adhering to industry best practices
- Help build automated tests and internal tools
- Participate in code reviews, debugging, testing and documentation
- Contribute to improving integration workflow and services Skills
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Basic knowledge of Python programming and understanding of its ecosystem and libraries
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices
- Willingness to learn and grow in a collaborative team setting
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Understanding of REST APIs and JSON
- Experience with Fast API, Flask, or Django frameworks
- Understanding of Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge of SQL or NoSQL databases
- Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with tools like Postman or Swagger for API testing
- Familiarity with Agile development practices (Scrum, Kanban)
