[Remote] Human Resources Coordinator
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Coyne & Associates Education Corp. is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to support all aspects of the employee lifecycle. The role involves managing onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and HR operations, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety and making a meaningful impact.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees across the organization
- Manage employee onboarding, employment changes, and offboarding
- Coordinate and administer leaves of absence (FMLA, CFRA, and other protected leaves)
- Support employee relations matters while ensuring compliance with California labor laws
- Process unemployment claims, employment verifications, and workers' compensation documentation
- Maintain employee records and HR systems, including Paylocity, CentralReach, and Workable
- Partner with leadership to update HR policies, procedures, forms, and the Employee Handbook
- Assist with corrective action processes and provide guidance to managers on HR-related matters
- Generate reports, audit personnel files, and identify opportunities to improve HR processes
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws
- Support additional HR projects and initiatives as the company continues to grow
Skills
- 2+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
- Strong understanding of California employment laws and HR best practices
- Experience managing employee relations and leave administration
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms such as Paylocity, CentralReach, Workable, or similar systems
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with shifting priorities
- Valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and insurable driving record
- Ability to pass DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance
- Commitment to HIPAA compliance and maintaining confidentiality
- Completion of required health, safety, and compliance training
- Ability to occasionally work onsite at our Mission Valley office as business needs require
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- PHR or SPHR certification preferred
