The role involves supporting large-scale language model training by leveraging expertise in German grammar and linguistics to enhance AI's understanding and processing of the language.
Responsibilities
- Converse with the model on language scenarios
- Verify factual accuracy and logical soundness
- Capture reproducible error traces
- Suggest improvements to our prompt engineering and evaluation metrics
Skills
- Access to Android devices
- Expertise in German grammar, syntax, morphology, semantics, phonetics, and pragmatics
- Ability to challenge advanced language models on topics like dialectal variation, formal versus colloquial language, German orthography, translation accuracy, semantic ambiguity, and cultural context
- Experience in documenting failure modes of language models
- Master's or PhD in German language, linguistics, or a closely related field
- Peer-reviewed publications
- Translation experience
- Hands-on linguistic analysis projects
- Clear, metacognitive communication skills
