[Remote] Functional Analyst
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Cyquent, Inc. is a CMMI & ISO Certified Technology Enabler providing end-to-end IT solutions and services. They are seeking an experienced Functional Analyst to act as a subject matter expert for healthcare provider lifecycle workflows and compliance regulations, translating complex business needs into functional requirements for engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions with stakeholders to gather business requirements and expectations
- Translate operational workflows into detailed functional documents, use cases, and business requirement frameworks
- Perform current-state vs. future-state gap analysis and define software logic for provider self-service portals, credentialing workflows, tax ID verification, and demographic management
- Ensure system design aligns with federal guidelines, NCQA standards, and state healthcare administrative requirements
- Act as the key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, communicating business rules and technical constraints clearly
- Map data definitions and integrations across external systems, including Electronic Health Records (EHR), provider identifier databases, and claims processing systems
- Support validation and testing by building test strategies and reviewing user acceptance criteria
Skills
- 10+ years of experience working with government health and human services applications/programs
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with state or federal Provider Management systems
- Experience creating functional design documents, technical schemas, and process workflows
- Familiarity with healthcare messaging architectures and SQL for validation
- Experience with MMIS, payer enrollment tools, or large-scale hospital credentialing systems
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Confluence
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to align priorities across teams
- Ability to break down complex regulatory guidelines into clear, manageable phases
- Ability to create precise functional documentation independently
