[Remote] Finance Paid Consultant - Headcount, Opex & Capex Control
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. LinkedIn is seeking experienced FP&A business partners and opex planning professionals for a project in their AI Marketplace. The role involves completing a recorded AI-led video interview where candidates will explain their real-world experience in headcount modeling, opex and capex planning, and spend-control workflows.
Responsibilities
- You’ll complete a ~ 30-minute recorded AI-led video interview where you explain how you actually do your work in practice
- This interview will focus on:
- Headcount modeling, open roles, backfills, hiring freezes, and reconciliations with HR/recruiting
- Opex planning, vendor spend, allocations, accruals, and in-year spend controls
- Capex planning, proposal review, ROI, thresholds, business cases, and approval paths
- Handling spend or hiring beyond plan and escalating tradeoffs to decision-makers
- You will be asked to explain workflows specifically within: headcount planning, opex planning, capex proposal review, spend-control gates, budget reconciliation, and cross-functional planning workflows
Skills
- 6+ years in FP&A business partnering, opex planning, headcount planning, capex planning, or business-unit finance
- Direct, hands-on experience in headcount planning, opex planning, capex proposal review, spend-control gates, budget reconciliation, and cross-functional planning workflows
- Experience making or influencing decisions related to headcount approval, spend tradeoffs, capex thresholds, hiring-freeze exceptions, reconciliation differences, and business-owner escalation
- Familiarity with tools such as: Workday, Greenhouse or ATS data, Anaplan, Adaptive Planning, Coupa, Excel, Power BI, HRIS/reporting tools
- Strong ability to clearly explain workflows, decisions, and reasoning
- Experience owning or directly executing these workflows in a real production environment
- Experience working in a cross-functional finance, strategy, treasury, investor-relations, or business-partnering environment
