[Remote] Fall 2026 Undergraduate Intern, Technology and Analytics Department- Educate Pod
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The ACLU is seeking an Undergraduate Software Engineering intern in the Technology and Analytics Department's Educate Pod. The intern will contribute to front-facing websites and gain hands-on experience in high-impact web projects that support the ACLU's mission.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain full-stack WordPress web properties alongside experienced engineers
- Collaborate with other engineers, designers, and product managers on cross-functional projects
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to a culture of technical quality
- Assist in creating and improving engineering documentation
- Join in on conversations about engineering strategy and best practices
Skills
- Currently be matriculated undergraduate students or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Must be based in the U.S. for the entire duration of the internship
- Experience writing code in at least one high-level programming language (e.g. PHP, Python)
- Experience with front-end development tools and best practices
- Experience working with a content management system (e.g. WordPress, Drupal)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Curiosity about how best to solve problems with creativity (and code)
- A passion for the defense of civil liberties
- Be committed to advancing the mission of the ACLU
