[Remote] Director of Business Development
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Flourish is a financial technology startup on a mission to help financial advisors evolve their practices. As a Director of Business Development, you will manage client relationships, grow product adoption, and originate new business opportunities while collaborating with various teams across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage client relationships from end-to-end, from sourcing to managing the sales process to client activation and adoption
- Interact with key clients to understand and resolve complex issues related to the platform
- Partner with our relationship management team to develop a coverage strategy for existing client relationships
- Identify and originate new business opportunities, whether through your own actions or in partnership with our marketing organization
- Manage the sales pipeline and relationships using CRM and partner with the data team to develop and maintain internal reporting tools
- Collaborate on the development of product and functional strategy for Flourish
- Willingness to travel for sales pitches and conferences (
- Stay current on general trends in the financial industry, and specifically within wealth management
- Maintain excellent communication with internal Flourish stakeholders
- Exercise considerable judgment and analysis to arrive at recommendations and/or conclusions
Skills
- Bachelor's degree
- 8+ years of related sales experience
- Background in financial sales required, with some experience in financial technology strongly preferred
- Either have a Series 7 or willingness to get a Series 7 within 60 days of joining
- Position is remote based in the western half of the US including Texas, Colorado, Arizona or California, with California strongly preferred
- Experience working with Retirement Investment Advisors
- Due to the nature of this position, as part of the background check process, candidates must be able to pass a fingerprint background check to qualify as a fingerprinted person under FINRA. For roles requiring registration, additional regulatory screenings may apply, including a review of Form U5 disclosures and other relevant licensing information
- Experience working as part of a fast-moving team with minimal guidance
- Highly comfortable with technology, both personally and professionally
- Excellent written and verbal communications, both internally and externally
- Strong problem solver and creative, independent thinker
- Energetic, positive and charismatic
- Experience selling to wealth managers or experience at a wealth management firm preferred
