[Remote] Director, IT Business Operations & Transformation

Largeton Group is seeking a Director of IT Business Operations & Transformation to partner with the CIO in managing and maturing the IT business for a multi-site services organization. The role involves overseeing IT demand management, project portfolio management, and establishing governance processes to enhance organizational maturity and alignment with business priorities.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a key partner to the CIO, helping to run and mature the business of IT for a growing, multi-site services organization
- Lead IT demand management and intake processes, ensuring clear visibility and prioritization of work across business functions
- Oversee IT project and portfolio management, identifying dependencies, risks, and supporting executive-level reporting and governance
- Establish and maintain operating rhythms, governance cadence, and executive updates for IT leadership
- Prepare CIO-ready materials, including scorecards, executive summaries, and action item tracking
- Build and maintain IT performance metrics, scorecards, and lightweight controls for project health, service performance, and financial tracking
- Support IT financial management, vendor oversight, and transparency of IT costs, priorities, and capacity
- Continuously mature the IT operating model, improving process discipline, execution quality, and organizational accountability
- Identify and address operational gaps, unclear ownership, and bottlenecks to improve work flow and delivery
- Act as a trusted proxy for the CIO in meetings and cross-functional discussions
- Collaborate with IT, finance, and business stakeholders to drive transparency, alignment, and execution of IT initiatives
- Drive organizational maturity from reactive to proactive, business-aligned IT operations with scalable processes and governance
- Operate independently, bringing structure, discipline, and practical solutions to a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Support and enhance IT governance, prioritization, and performance management processes
- Ensure IT initiatives are aligned with the highest-value business priorities and provide executive-level visibility into status and risks
Skills
- 7+ years in IT business operations, portfolio management, PMO, CIO office, or similar roles
- Proven ability to organize and prioritize ambiguous work, drive accountability, and deliver executive reporting
- Strong independent judgment, follow-through, and executive communication skills
- Experience with IT delivery, business applications, infrastructure, vendors, budgets, and project execution
- Ability to operate effectively in a lean, fast-paced, and evolving organization
- Experience in mid-market, multi-site, or field services environments
- Background in Office of the CIO, IT Business Management, or Transformation Office roles
- IT financial and vendor management, and familiarity with enterprise platforms (e.g., Dynamics 365, Azure, ServiceNow, Jira, Power BI)
- Experience maturing IT governance, intake, prioritization, and performance processes
