[Remote] Data Scientist (Computer Vision Exposure Preferred)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. WorkTrust Solutions is seeking a strong Data Scientist with exposure to computer vision to join their team. The role involves building machine learning solutions, developing prototypes, and collaborating with various stakeholders to operationalize the computer vision strategy.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Computer Vision SME, business SMEs, and technical teams to understand requirements and project objectives
- Convert business and technical requirements into data science solutions and deliverables
- Develop, test, and refine machine learning and computer vision models based on established frameworks and standards
- Build prototypes, proof of concepts, and production-ready analytical solutions
- Support image-processing and asset-classification initiatives involving drone, satellite, and aerial imagery
- Assist in training, evaluation, validation, and optimization of models
- Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, and other technical resources to deploy and operationalize models
- Participate in model performance reviews and help improve accuracy and effectiveness over time
- Document methodologies, findings, and implementation approaches
Skills
- Strong Data Science background with hands-on experience building machine learning models
- Experience translating business requirements into analytical and technical solutions
- Exposure to computer vision concepts, methodologies, and modeling techniques
- Prior experience developing prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions
- Experience working with structured and unstructured data
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams, including SMEs, engineers, and business stakeholders
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience working throughout the model development lifecycle
- Computer vision and image-processing experience
- Object detection, image classification, pattern recognition, or asset recognition projects
- Experience working with drone imagery, satellite imagery, aerial photography, or similar visual datasets
- Utility, energy, infrastructure, asset-management, or inspection-related experience
- Familiarity with model deployment, monitoring, and optimization
