[Remote] Data Scientist & AI/ML SME

General Dynamics Information Technology is a global technology and professional services company that delivers consulting, technology, and mission services to the U.S. government. They are seeking a Data Scientist & AI/ML SME to support the United States Postal Service by streamlining processes and enhancing decision-making through data-driven solutions.
Responsibilities
- Create, configure, and deploy automated systems combining AI, ML, RPA bots, Microsoft Power Tools, Databricks, and Splunk to support real-time or near-real-time risk monitoring
- Analyze large, complex datasets (e.g., logs, vulnerability scans, threat intelligence) to uncover patterns and anomalies. Understand and analyze repetitive, time-consuming business processes to determine recommended automation solution using Postal tools
- Write and update code, build custom scripts, integrate AI models into existing infrastructure like Splunk, Databricks, ServiceNow, and Microsoft Power Tools to automate manual risk assessment and reporting processes and improve efficiency and accuracy. Build dashboards and visualizations to communicate insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Monitor and optimize automation performance, troubleshoot errors, and ensure system scalability
- Collaborate with cybersecurity analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to translate business needs into data solutions
Skills
- 5 + years of related experience
- Proficiency in multiple scripting / coding languages, and API use
- Experience with Microsoft Power Tools, GRC tools, Databricks, Splunk, SharePoint, ServiceNow ticket generation, Okta automation, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), AI/ML libraries, database administration, and low-code/no-code tools
- Ability to analyze large datasets, leveraging multiple tools, to uncover patterns for process optimization
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex data ingestion and parsing issues
- Knowledge of Business Process Management (BPM) and workflow optimization
- Exposure to network security or cybersecurity
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting
- This position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, preferred but not required
- Experience with an RPA (Robotic Process Automation) platform is a plus
