[Remote] Data Engineer

The Data Engineer role involves defining and managing data accessibility, collaborating on data architecture, and implementing data pipeline solutions to support enterprise systems and analytics.
Responsibilities
- Define, model, validate and provide accessibility of data for stakeholders in the Americas, Asia Pacific and EU
- Share ownership of data platform, from ingress through transformation and access/integration in these regions
- Work with various teams to define and document data architecture across integrated Enterprise Systems
- Design and document data model that supports Enterprise Systems and Analytics
- Assemble large, complex data that meet functional and non-functional business requirements
- Use infrastructure and services required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from variety of data sources using SQL and AWS services
- Contribute to documentation and maintenance of data catalogue
- Design, implement and maintain data pipeline integrations and solutions, incorporating highly scalable cloud computing and large-scale data stores including data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts
- Work collaboratively with Test Engineers to ensure high standard of quality at all levels, ranging from operational efficiency of ETL to accuracy of data
- Bring best-practice experience to proactively and continuously build data-related practices within team
- Contribute to scalability of both data infrastructure and team processes, standards, and workflow
- Work with stakeholders to assist with data related technical issues and support data requirement needs
Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field of study and 5 years of progressive experience in Data Engineering
- Employer will accept a Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field of study and 1 year of experience in Data Engineering in lieu of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 5 years of progressive experience
- 3 years (1 year with a Master's degree) of experience working on Enterprise Systems
- Data architecture
- Working with structured and semi-structured data architectures
- SQL, working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) and working with a variety of databases
- Manipulating, processing and extracting value from large (petabyte size), disconnected datasets
- Developing scalable ETLs and data processes
- Snowflake
- Oracle EBS databases
- Spark, Scala, Kafka, Elasticsearch and Python
- AWS cloud services, including S3, DMS, EC2, RDS, Lambda, IAM, SQS and SNS
- Terraform, Airflow and Job Scheduler
- Shell scripts
