[Remote] Data Engineer

They are seeking a Senior Data Engineer / Solution Architect to design and implement scalable data and integration architectures for banking operations, ensuring compliance and data integrity in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data architectures and integration solutions for banking and FinTech platforms
• Work directly with core banking systems such as Finxact, Thought Machine, Mambu, FIS, Fiserv, or similar platforms
• Build and enhance data pipelines and interfaces that connect core banking platforms, internal systems, third-party vendors, and reporting environments
• Support sponsor bank data infrastructure and the associated compliance, reconciliation, and reporting layers required in regulated environments
• Design solutions that account for the operational and regulatory constraints of working with regulated financial institutions
• Partner with business, engineering, risk, compliance, and operations teams to ensure data flows are scalable, auditable, and aligned to banking requirements
• Contribute to architecture decisions involving data models, integrations, controls, lineage, and governance
• Support or integrate with BSA/AML systems, ensuring data is structured and available for monitoring, reporting, and investigative workflows
• Translate complex banking requirements into practical technical designs that balance speed, resilience, security, and compliance
• Guide cross-functional teams on best practices for building banking-grade data platforms and integration patterns

Skills

• Proven experience in data engineering, solution architecture, or platform architecture within the banking, FinTech, or regulated financial services space
• Hands-on experience with direct banking cores such as Finxact, Thought Machine, Mambu, FIS, Fiserv, or similar environments
• Strong understanding of banking data models, including how transactional, customer, ledger, compliance, and operational data move across systems
• Experience working with sponsor bank infrastructure and the associated compliance and reporting requirements
• Experience supporting, integrating, or designing around BSA/AML systems and related controls
• Solution architect-level experience working directly with regulated institutions, not solely fintech application-layer environments
• Strong understanding of the architectural, operational, and governance requirements that come with bank-level oversight
• Experience designing robust, scalable, and auditable data pipelines, interfaces, and integration frameworks
• Ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders, including engineering, compliance, operations, and executive leadership
• Strong communication skills and the ability to turn complex regulatory and business requirements into clear technical solutions
