[Remote] D365 Business Central Finance Consultant

R2 Global is seeking an experienced Senior Dynamics 365 Business Central Finance Consultant to lead and optimise financial processes within a growing Business Central environment. This role focuses on delivering scalable financial solutions and collaborating with finance leadership to ensure Business Central supports financial control, insight, and growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of D365 Business Central Finance modules, including:
- General Ledger
- Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
- Cash & Bank Management
- Fixed Assets
- Financial Reporting
- Translate business and finance requirements into scalable BC solutions
- Configure and optimise Business Central to support efficient financial workflows and controls
- Analyse existing financial processes and identify improvement opportunities
- Drive automation and efficiency across:
- Month-end close
- Invoice processing
- Payment runs
- Financial reporting
- Improve financial accuracy, controls, and reporting timelines
- Act as the SME for Business Central Finance
- Partner with finance leaders, FP&A teams, and operational stakeholders
- Gather and document business and reporting requirements
- Provide best practice guidance on BC financial functionality and controls
- Collaborate with technical teams on:
- Integrations with banking systems, payroll, and external finance tools
- Data migration and upgrades
- Support system testing, deployment, and post-go-live improvements
- Develop and enhance financial reporting and KPIs within BC
- Support visibility across:
- P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
- Budget vs actuals
- Cost centres and profitability
- Ensure alignment between operational and financial data
- Mentor junior consultants and finance analysts
- Act as a functional lead on finance workstreams
- Contribute to best practices and internal knowledge sharing
Skills
- 5+ years working with Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Strong functional expertise in finance modules: General Ledger, AP/AR, Fixed Assets, Financial reporting
- Proven experience in end-to-end BC implementations or finance transformations
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Experience working closely with finance teams (controllers, finance managers, CFOs)
- Ability to translate financial requirements into scalable system solutions
- Experience with multi-entity / multi-currency environments
- Financial consolidations
- Budgeting and forecasting tools
- Cost accounting
- Exposure to integrations (Power Platform, banking APIs, third-party tools)
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Microsoft certifications in Business Central (preferred)
