Remote Contest Math Instructor (Part-Time)
Art of Problem Solving seeks a Remote Contest Math Instructor to teach upper-level math to middle and high school students in a virtual classroom environment. This part-time position focuses on student-led instruction and critical thinking development for competitive math preparation. Key Responsibilities: Teach live online classes through Zoom to small groups (average 12 students) preparing for math contests like AMC, AIME, and MATHCOUNTS. Develop participation-oriented lessons that emphasize problem-solving skills and student discussion rather than rote memorization. Skills & Tools: Strong knowledge of middle and high school mathematics competitions with ability to teach/tutor at those levels. Excellent virtual classroom facilitation, ability to foster engaging discussions, and preference for student-centered instruction approaches. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field required (Master's preferred). Must have teaching or tutoring experience at the middle to high school level, with strong preference for experience in math contests such as AMC, AIME, MATHCOUNTS, USA(J)MO, or IMO.
