[Remote] Content Strategist
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. DEPLOY is looking for a mid-to-senior level Content Strategist to join their team. The role focuses on developing content frameworks and guiding messaging across various channels, while also supporting agency leadership and other accounts as needed.
Responsibilities
- Lead content strategy for a major multi-brand foundation engagement - defining how the client tells its story across a fragmented portfolio of brands
- Develop a content strategy and website content framework covering core pages, aligned to user journeys and key audience segments
- Write and shape page-level messaging guidance and core website content in collaboration with brand strategy and UX partners
- Collaborate closely with DEPLOY's Client's account, strategy, and creative teams and our digital platform partner throughout Foundation planning and execution
- Serve as a content strategy resource across other accounts as capacity allows
- Support agency leadership - including the SVP of Account Leadership and Chief Strategy Officer - on thought leadership, positioning, and strategic content initiatives
- Bring a point of view to how behavioral science and Creative Psychology principles can inform content strategy across verticals
- Help establish content strategy best practices and frameworks that can be applied across the agency's client portfolio
Skills
- 6-10 years of experience in content strategy, preferably with agency or consulting experience
- Demonstrated ability to build content frameworks, messaging architecture, and content systems - not just write content
- Strong understanding of how content connects to brand strategy, user journeys, and business objectives
- Working knowledge of SEO best practices and how to build content that performs in both traditional search and AI-driven discovery (GEO - generative engine optimization)
- Experience working on complex, multi-stakeholder engagements with multiple audiences and channels
- Comfort operating across B2B and B2C contexts
- Excellent written communication and the ability to translate strategic thinking into clear, compelling content direction
- Collaborative working style - you know how to partner with creative, account, and strategy teams without losing your point of view
- Able to work independently in a remote environment with minimal oversight
- Familiarity with behavioral science, consumer psychology, or research-informed messaging strategy
- Experience in food service, commercial refrigeration, B2B distribution, or adjacent verticals
