[Remote] CC#26-07-01 - EAL Teacher, Nova Scotia International Student Program
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. CSAP (Conseil scolaire acadien provincial) is seeking an EAL Teacher for the Nova Scotia International Student Program. The EAL Teacher will teach virtual EAL classes and provide tutoring to students with low level English, focusing on improving their language skills.
Responsibilities
- The EAL Teacher is responsible for teaching virtual EAL classes, and providing tutoring to NSISP students with low level English in grades 7-12
- The EAL teacher will be expected to develop and implement lesson plans that support students with improving their English reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills
Skills
- Valid Teaching Certificate recognized by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development OR EAL teaching qualifications that are recognized by TESL Canada
- Previous experience teaching EAL in Canada or abroad
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, and demonstrated excellence in teaching
- A satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check and a Criminal Record Check, according to NSISP policies and standards, will be required
- Experience with virtual EAL instruction and use of Google Classroom is considered an asset
