Remote CAD Drafter Residential Plans
Position: Remote CAD Drafter for Residential Home Plans Drafter Summary: Creates model drawings and detailed construction drawings for homes to a national standard based on base models provided by design or plants. Performs calculations and analysis to support designs by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creates designs from rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from Senior Director of Regional manager.
- Drafts detailed construction drawings and installations such as walls, roofs, floors, plumbing, water, electrical, cabinets, gas lines, duct prints, foundations elevations, etc.
- Uses computer-assisted design (CAD) equipment and software to create detailed drawings.
- Drafts detailed construction drawings of houses and installations such as walls, roofs, floors, plumbing, potable water, electrical, cabinets, gas lines, duct prints, pier blocking, elevations, etc.
- Drafts and tracks approvals submitted to third-party agencies.
- Should be familiar with building codes in the US. HUD, Residential and Commercial codes are a plus.
- Confers with direct manager and other departments as needed to resolve design details or problems.
- Lays out, redesigns, and modifies home arrangement, and interconnections components and systems.
- Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
- Shows dimensions, material to be used, and other information necessary to make detailed drawings clear and complete.
- Generates calculations for the analysis of selected designs using approved software.
- Manage multiply tasks as priorities may change based on current needs.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Education and/or Experience: Associates degree from a two-year college or technical school which includes advanced training in AutoCAD or two to five years' work experience using the AutoCAD software; or an equivalent combination of education and training. Qualifications:
- AutoCAD software experience using 2019 or higher.
- Microsoft Office 365
- Team Player / Self Starter
- The ability to manage time and work remotely without direct supervision.
- Adaptive Learner
