[Remote] Analyst, Financial Reporting & Analysis

The Analyst will be responsible for completing accounting tasks such as preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and conducting variance analysis while ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Support the month-end close process, including journal entry preparation, reconciling accounts, and producing accurate financial statements
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations and verify accuracy of the general ledger
  • Conduct variance analysis for balance sheet and income statement accounts and investigate discrepancies
  • Interpret contract language affecting Medicaid plans
  • Process invoice payments
  • Assist with collections of outstanding Medicaid settlements
  • Provide documentation and information for internal and external audits
  • Participate in special projects and ad-hoc analysis within the controllership organization

Skills

  • Experience in Microsoft Excel; ability to work with large data sets and build/maintain complex spreadsheets
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1+ year of experience in accounting or finance with an emphasis on month end close and analysis
  • Familiarity with financial systems or reporting tools (e.g., Oracle, Hyperion, Sequel, SAP)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, reliable work
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills, including ability to summarize findings clearly
