[Remote] AI Solutions Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Permhunt is a fast-growing US-based AI-automation agency that helps small and mid-sized businesses scale through Digital Employees low-code AI agents. They are seeking an AI Solutions Engineer to design, consult with clients, and build AI-powered solutions, focusing on client-reported matters and improving AI workflows and integrations in production.
Responsibilities
- Design & build Digital Employees on the Relevance AI platform (training provided)
- Create end-to-end automations in n8n / Upgrade / Airtable that connect phones, CRMs, billing, email and more
- Integrate AI capabilities via OpenAI and related APIs to handle sales enquiries, support tickets and data processing
- Develop third-party integrations (REST APIs, webhooks) across CRMs, accounting tools and other business systems
- Maintain & optimise existing automations; troubleshoot issues, improve reliability and document processes
- Collaborate with AI Implementation Specialists and Client Success Managers, meeting 8-week delivery timelines
- Serve in a client-facing consultation role, working directly with clients to understand issues, provide updates, and help resolve matters across AI workflows and automation systems
- Troubleshoot workflow failures, API issues, and integration problems, investigate root causes, and implement effective fixes across platforms such as n8n, Make, Zapier, and similar tools
Skills
- Strong technical capability in JavaScript and Python
- Hands-on production experience with n8n, Upgrade, Zapier, or similar workflow automation platforms
- Deep understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and automation architecture across connected systems
- Proven ability to design and deliver scalable business workflow automations in real-world environments
