[Remote] Accounting Supervisor
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. GAN is a finance company seeking an Accounting Supervisor to partner with the Global Controller in supporting commercial and operational accounting functions. The role focuses on revenue recognition, financial reporting, and cross-functional collaboration, requiring oversight of accounting processes and improvements.
Responsibilities
- Oversee key general accounting functions, including accounts receivable, sales invoicing, revenue recognition, royalties, and cost of sales
- Lead the transactional month-end close process, including reviewing and approving journal entries
- Review balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Take ownership of revenue accounting and sales invoicing, ensuring revenues and cost of sales are recorded accurately and in accordance with accounting standards
- Review month-end financial results, identify discrepancies, and recommend or implement necessary corrections
- Prepare and review variance analyses for profit and loss accounts, providing meaningful insights into financial performance
- Ensure accounting processes and procedures are consistently followed and remain compliant with company policies and accounting standards
- Support quarterly reviews, year-end financial audits, and annual internal control audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests
- Partner closely with the Client Success, Sales, and Development teams to support business operations and provide financial guidance
- Evaluate existing accounting processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls
- Collaborate with shared services teams and cross-functional stakeholders to improve reporting and streamline financial operations
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Qualified accountant with 5+ years of general accounting experience in an international or multinational organization
- Strong knowledge of accrual accounting, U.S. GAAP, and ASC 606 revenue recognition
- Extensive experience managing the month-end close process, including journal entry review and approval
- Proven experience driving process improvements and implementing operational efficiencies
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills
- Self-motivated, solution-oriented, and able to take ownership of projects and deliverables
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Strong emotional intelligence (EQ) with the ability to quickly build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively across diverse teams and corporate cultures
- CPA or equivalent professional accounting designation
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (D365)
- Experience working in a global or shared services environment
- Experience partnering with Sales, Client Success, or other commercial teams to support revenue operations and financial reporting
- Experience supporting external audits and internal control initiatives
