[Remote] Accountant
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Northbound Executive Search is representing a nonprofit organization seeking an experienced Accountant Consultant to support their accounting team on a fully remote basis. The consultant will manage various accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and general ledger support while ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
- Process payroll and ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations
- Perform cost accounting analysis and monitor program and departmental expenses
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate financial reporting
- Analyze financial data and provide support for budgeting and forecasting
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and internal controls
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting-related issues
- Utilize NetSuite for day-to-day accounting operations, reporting, reconciliations, and financial analysis
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit organization
- Strong experience with AP, AR, Payroll, and Cost Accounting
- Hands-on NetSuite experience required
- Knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
