Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) – Independent Contractor (Illinois)Virtual Meal Plan Review & Signature Company: HEALTH CLASS 4U INC Position Type: Independent Contractor (1099) Location: Remote / Virtual (Must be licensed and authorized to practice in Illinois) Compensation: Negotiable per review, per client, or hourly basis Position Overview HEALTH CLASS 4U INC is seeking a qualified Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) licensed or otherwise authorized to provide nutrition services in Illinois to review, evaluate, and approve individualized meal plans developed for clients participating in health and wellness programs. The Registered Dietitian will work remotely as an independent contractor and provide professional oversight of nutrition recommendations to ensure plans are nutritionally appropriate, evidence-based, and aligned with client needs and applicable professional standards.
Responsibilities
- Review client health information, dietary preferences, and nutritional goals.
- Evaluate individualized meal plans for nutritional adequacy and appropriateness.
- Recommend modifications when necessary.
- Approve and electronically sign meal plans that meet professional standards.
- Document reviews and maintain required records.
- Communicate recommendations to HEALTH CLASS 4U INC staff when revisions are needed.
- Participate in periodic quality assurance reviews.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and professional regulations.
- Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
QualificationsRequired
- Current Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
- Active Illinois license if required under applicable Illinois law.
- Professional liability insurance.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in clinical nutrition, community nutrition, wellness, weight management, or related field.
- Ability to securely review records electronically.
- Strong written communication skills.
Preferred
- Experience reviewing meal plans for wellness, preventive health, weight management, or lifestyle programs.
- Experience working as an independent contractor.
- Familiarity with telehealth and virtual nutrition services.
Schedule
- Flexible scheduling.
- Work performed remotely.
- Reviews completed on an as-needed basis.
- Contractor determines their own work hours and methods of performing services.
Compensation
Options HEALTH CLASS 4U INC may offer one of the following compensation structures:
- $25–$50 per meal plan review
- $50–$100 per client case review
- $40–$75 per hour
- Monthly retainer arrangement (negotiable)
Final compensation will be determined based on experience, credentials, and anticipated workload. Independent Contractor Status This position is an independent contractor relationship. The contractor is responsible for:
- Federal, state, and local taxes.
- Maintaining all required licenses and certifications.
- Maintaining professional liability insurance.
- Providing their own equipment and internet access.
- Compliance with all applicable laws and professional standards.
