Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Adelphi is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide comprehensive psychiatric services to adult offenders in the custody of a correctional facility in North Carolina. Positions are available for telepsychiatry . The Provider will work as part of an interdisciplinary team delivering care in accordance with established policies, community standards of practice, and correctional mental health guidelines. Requirements:
- Unrestricted North Carolina NP license with PMHNP certification.
- BLS certification
- DEA certification
- ACLS certification
- Minimum of one year post-licensure clinical experience in psychiatric or correctional settings preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR systems (HERO preferred) and ability to function in a secure environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, mental health assessments, and crisis interventions for incarcerated adults.
- Diagnose mental illnesses and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in compliance with the facility's formulary.
- Monitor patient response to treatment and modify plans as clinically appropriate.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation using the HERO electronic medical record system.
- Collaborate with physicians, correctional nurses, psychologists, and other clinical personnel.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and attend scheduled team meetings.
- Comply with all DAC regulations, HIPAA requirements, and PREA standards.
- Support continuity of care and appropriate referrals for higher levels of psychiatric treatment as needed.
