Greater Franklin Development Council Program & Operations Coordinator Full-Time Exempt Position Reports To: Executive Director, Greater Franklin Development Council Supervisory Responsibilities: None Location: Farmington, Maine Schedule: Full-time with occasional evening meetings/events Position Summary Greater Franklin Development Council (GFDC) seeks a highly organized, dependable, and collaborative Program & Operations Coordinator to support the implementation and execution of economic and community development initiatives across Franklin County and the surrounding region. This position plays a key operational support role within the organization and is responsible for helping move projects, initiatives, partnerships, and organizational priorities forward under the direction of the Executive Director. The Program & Operations Coordinator will focus heavily on organization, coordination, communication, follow-through, scheduling, tracking, and execution support to ensure GFDC initiatives are implemented effectively and efficiently. The position is designed for a strong organizer and project coordinator who excels at managing details, maintaining systems, coordinating moving parts, and supporting the successful execution of strategic initiatives led by the Executive Director. This is not a leadership or director-level role; rather, it is a highly collaborative support position focused on operational excellence, program coordination, and organizational effectiveness. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, responsive, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining strong organizational systems and consistent communication with partners and stakeholders. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Program Coordination & Execution Support · Coordinate and support the day-to-day implementation of GFDC programs, projects, and strategic initiatives directed by the Executive Director. · Maintain organized project timelines, work plans, tracking systems, calendars, documentation, and follow-up activities to ensure initiatives remain on schedule and moving forward. · Help manage project logistics, scheduling, communications, and coordination among partners, consultants, municipalities, and stakeholders. · Track action items, deliverables, deadlines, and reporting requirements across multiple initiatives. · Support the Executive Director by preparing materials, organizing information, coordinating meetings, and ensuring follow-through on priorities and commitments. · Assist with the coordination and execution of GFDC events, workshops, trainings, meetings, and community activities. · Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems, records, databases, and project documentation. Organizational & Administrative Support · Assist with internal organizational coordination and operational activities that support GFDC’s effectiveness and efficiency. · Prepare agendas, meeting materials, notes, summaries, reports, presentations, and follow-up communications. · Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and communications for meetings and collaborative initiatives. · Maintain tracking systems for organizational priorities, projects, grants, and partner activities. · Support communication flow between GFDC, partners, municipalities, and community organizations. Partner & Community Coordination · Serve as a responsive and professional point of contact for community partners, municipalities, businesses, nonprofits, and stakeholders. · Support relationship management efforts led by the Executive Director through communication, coordination, scheduling, and follow-up. · Attend meetings and events in support of GFDC initiatives and organizational priorities. · Gather information, updates, and materials from partners and stakeholders to support ongoing initiatives and reporting activities. Grant & Funding Coordination Support · Research and track funding and grant opportunities relevant to GFDC priorities. · Assist with gathering information, organizing materials, and coordinating supporting documentation for grant applications and reports. · Maintain grant tracking systems, reporting schedules, compliance documentation, and related files. · Coordinate collection of project data, outcomes, and partner information needed for reporting and funding-related activities. · Support grant administration and reporting activities for active projects under the direction of GFDC leadership. Required Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, nonprofit management, communications, community development, or related field; equivalent experience considered. · Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in project coordination, program administration, nonprofit operations, office management, community development support, or related work. · Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with strong attention to detail. · Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and moving parts simultaneously. · Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. · Ability to work independently while supporting collaborative team and partner efforts. · Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business technology tools. · Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally. Preferred Qualifications · Familiarity with Franklin County and western Maine communities. · Experience supporting community development, nonprofit, municipal, or regional initiatives. · Experience with project tracking, grants administration support, or organizational operations. · Familiarity with rural economic or community development initiatives and partnerships.
