Department Overview The OHSU-PSU School of Public Health (SPH) is aligned with the American Public Health Association in declaring racism a public health crisis, and our School is committed to becoming an antiracist SPH. The Postdoctoral Scholar will support the evaluation of the Abundant Birth Project (ABP), a guaranteed income intervention designed to improve maternal and infant health outcomes. In collaboration with academic and community partners, this work focuses on understanding how social and economic interventions influence perinatal health and equity. The Postdoctoral Scholar will report to Dr. Deborah Karasek and conduct advanced quantitative analyses of longitudinal survey and administrative data, lead manuscripts and conference presentations, and collaborate across interdisciplinary teams, including study PIs based at UC Berkeley and UC Davis. The position offers opportunities for first-author publications, methodological training, and development of independent research aligned with policy-relevant maternal and child health. The role may also contribute to grant applications and analyses across other projects in the PIs portfolio. Function/Duties of Position Conduct statistical analyses using longitudinal and administrative datasets. Implement methods to address missing data, attrition methods, and complex sampling. Lead and contribute to manuscript manuscripts, reports, and presentations for academic, policy, and community audiences. Contribute to grant development and writing. Conduct quasi-experimental analyses of the impact of economic policies and programs on maternal and infant health. Collaborate with community and program partners to support interpretation and dissemination of findings. Present findings at team meetings, conferences, and stakeholder convenings. Support mentoring of graduate students or research staff.

Required Qualifications

PhD (or equivalent) in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, Health Policy, or related field Experience conducting quantitative analyses using statistical software (Stata preferred) Experience preparing manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication and presenting findings at academic conferences Strong analytic and problem-solving skills Familiarity of approaches to dealing with missing data Familiarity with longitudinal data analysis Demonstrated ability to manage and analyze complex datasets Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams Ability to perform the job duties with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with maternal and infant health research, particularly perinatal health equity Experience with randomized controlled trials Experience with multi-site studies, including data harmonization or meta-analyses Experience working with administrative or linked datasets Experience in community-engaged or policy-relevant research Demonstrated track record of peer-reviewed publications Familiarity with quasi-experimental methods, causal inference, and/or meta-analysis Additional Details Open to fully-remote, hybrid or on-site work environment at OHSU-PSU School of Public Health Work involves collaboration with external academic institutions and community partners Occasional travel for conferences, partner meetings, or dissemination activities Why apply to OHSU?
