'Pharmacy Technician' Remote -San Antonio, TX

Job Description: Job Title: ‘Pharmacy Tech II Front End’ Estimated Length of Assignment: 04+ Months With Possible Extension (The dates provided are only an estimate and not a guarantee) Est. Pay Range: $17-00/Hour - $18.92/Hour on W2 (USD)- Negotiable Work Type: Remote role, San Antonio, TX Schedule – Wk 1: M-F 8-4:30pm, Wk 2-8: M-F 9-5:30pm, Wk 9+: M-Th 11-7:30pm, F 9-5:30pm, Sat shift every 6 weeks This is primarily a remote position however all training will be done onsite at 7034 Alamo Downs Parkway, San Antonio, TX 78238. There is no set end date for training so do not guarantee a timeline to your candidates. Once training is completed, position will be remote, but workers may be expected to come onsite for meetings, equipment pickup, etc.

  • Candidates must reside within a 30 minute commute of the office address listed above.
  • Provide commute time on resume.
  • Include Texas State Board of Pharmacy registration number on resume.

Position Summary

  • Adept at reading/interpreting prescription terminology and medications.
  • Rapid keyboarding skills while maintaining 100% accuracy.
  • Able to meet specified production and quality standards as defined by the management team.
  • Able to recognize and identify commonly used generic drugs and the route of administration of these drugs.
  • General knowledge of commonly used generic drugs.
  • Able to understand and interpret Latin symbols commonly used on prescriptions medications and able write routine correspondence.
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. This includes the ability to calculate dosages and days-supply prescriptions.
  • Must be flexible and enjoy working in a fast pace, team-oriented environment.

Duties

  • This position is responsible for screening orders, research, accurately and efficiently reading, interpreting, and entering prescriptions into the computer system in a timely fashion, and/ or thinking through and solving escalated prescription issues.
  • Technicians will direct questionable prescriptions to the prescriber for clarification and enter incomplete prescription information once clarification has been obtained and complete appropriate described patient letter.
  • Through your skills and knowledge, you will offer solutions needed to help simplify the customer health care experience.
  • Areas of focus for Pharmacy Technicians may entering patient and prescription information into our system, and faxing physicians for prescription clarification, substitutions, and formulary changes.
  • To help support development and maximize workflow, you will be asked to perform other pharmacy functions as required.

Experience · Must know how to type and have basic computer knowledge. · Must have an active texas state board of pharmacy license or trainee. · Include texas state board of pharmacy registration number on resume. Completion of Pharmacy Tech training program. 3 months Pharmacy Experience. Education

  • Verifiable High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Completion of Pharmacy Tech training program
