About the position The Payment Posting Specialist will be primarily responsible for posting patient and third-party payments and contractual. The specialist will be required to research patient accounts on the Business Office System (Epic) with an understanding of payment, allowance, write-off and EDI (835) transactions. The incumbent will need to be able to interpret EOB’s and R/A’s and comprehend coordination of benefits. This position requires excellent organizational. Responsibilities
- Posting patient and third-party payments and contractuals.
- Researching patient accounts on the Business Office System (Epic) with an understanding of payment, allowance, write-off and EDI (835) transactions.
- Interpreting EOB’s and R/A’s.
- Comprehending coordination of benefits.
- Ensuring accurate, efficient revenue reporting for Kelsey-Seybold Clinic.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of business office experience
- 1+ years of experience with coordination of benefits & EOB/RA interpretations
- Proven basic CPT, ICD-9 coding knowledge
- Prior Payment Posting experience
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Professional appearance and approach
- Compliance with company policies and procedures
Nice-to-haves
- Certified medical business office training
- 3+ years of business office experience
- Proven knowledge of business office patient accounting system (Epic).
- Knowledge of EDI (835) Transmissions
