Part-Time Remote Tax Accountant (CPA or EA Preferred)

Position Summary The Part-Time Remote Tax & Accounting Professional supports clients through tax preparation, tax review, general accounting responsibilities, and fractional CFO support. In this role, you will work directly with clients, collaborate with internal team members, and help maintain high standards of accuracy, responsiveness, and service. Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement
- Communicate with clients by email, phone, and virtual meetings
- Gather documentation, respond to questions, and help ensure timely delivery of work
Tax Preparation & Review
- Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
Quality Control
- Review work completed by junior preparers
- Identify errors, provide constructive feedback, and uphold firm quality standards
Fractional CFO Support
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow monitoring, and financial reporting
General Accounting
- Prepare workpapers, perform reconciliations, and support month‑end and year‑end processes
Internal Support
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and internal documentation
- Support the continued development of efficient, remote-friendly workflows
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in public accounting, tax preparation, or related work
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
- Proficiency with QuickBooks, ProConnect Tax, or comparable software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and analytical abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a remote environment
- High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and professional integrity
Preferred Qualifications
- Active CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) license
- Experience reviewing junior preparers’ work
- Experience with fractional CFO or outsourced accounting engagements
- Familiarity with workflow management systems used in accounting firms

Compensation & Benefits
