Mechanical Engineer- Pipe Stress
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer specializing in Pipe Stress analysis to join our innovative engineering team. Duties
- Perform comprehensive pipe stress analysis using advanced software tools such as CAESAR II , AUTOPIPE or similar to evaluate pipe system responses under thermal, pressure, and mechanical loads.
- Develop detailed mechanical drawings and schematics for piping systems utilizing SolidWorks, Creo, and other 3D CAD modeling platforms.
- Conduct tolerance analysis and mechanical drafting to ensure precise fabrication and installation of piping components.
- Collaborate with project teams on scheduling tasks, milestones, and resource allocation to meet project deadlines efficiently.
- Utilize root cause analysis techniques to troubleshoot pipe stress issues and implement corrective actions during design or operational phases.
- Apply engineering product development principles to optimize pipe layouts, supporting manufacturing and system design improvements.
- Prepare technical documentation including mechanical detail drawings, schematics, and system specifications aligned with industry standards such as ASME codes & standards.
- Engage in system design activities using BIM tools and building information modeling practices to enhance coordination across disciplines.
- Use simulation tools like MATLAB, Simulink, or LabVIEW for dynamic analysis of piping systems under various operational scenarios.
- Support manufacturing processes by providing mechanical input for CNC machining, 3D modeling for product design, and mechanical testing procedures.
Experience
- Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role with a focus on pipe stress analysis or related mechanical systems.
- Strong background in mechanical engineering principles including mechanical knowledge relevant to piping systems and structural integrity.
- Professional License Is Preferred
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoPipe, SolidWorks and Creo for 3D modeling, drafting, and detailed design work.
- Familiarity with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) techniques for stress testing and tolerance analysis of complex systems.
- Experience with engineering product development workflows from conceptual design through fabrication and testing phases.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to ensure precision in mechanical drawings and component assembly.
- Ability to utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Arduino platforms, or similar automation tools for system integration projects is a plus.
- Skilled in project scheduling methodologies to coordinate multiple tasks effectively while maintaining quality standards.
- Strong analytical skills with experience conducting root cause analysis on mechanical failures or system anomalies.
