Mainframe QA Engineer (Only W2 - Independent Visa)
Mainframe QA Engineer Remote Long Term Job Summary We are seeking a Mainframe QA Engineer to support testing and quality assurance activities for enterprise financial applications running on IBM Mainframe platforms. The role involves validating business requirements, executing test cases, identifying defects, and ensuring the reliability and performance of critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze requirements and create test plans, test cases, and test scenarios. Perform functional, integration, system, and regression testing for mainframe applications. Validate batch processing, online transactions, and data integrity. Execute testing for COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM-based applications. Identify, document, and track defects through resolution. Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure quality deliverables. Support release validation and production verification activities. Maintain test documentation and provide regular status updates. Required Skills Strong experience with IBM Mainframe technologies: COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, TSO/ISPF. Experience in manual testing and defect management. Knowledge of SQL and data validation techniques. Familiarity with testing tools such as Jira, ALM/Quality Center, and File-AID. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Financial Services, Banking, Brokerage, or Investment Management domains. Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies. Knowledge of batch scheduling tools such as Control-M. Experience & Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 5+ years of experience in Mainframe QA/Test Engineering.
