Job Description – Logistics consultant with Shipping Domain exp. Role Overview
- Experienced Logistics Consulting professional specializing in global shipping lines and ocean freight operations.
- Understanding on Export/import process, documentations, custom & compliances, INCO terms, E2E shipping process,
- Should relate & understanding of Warehouse/ logistics/shipping terminology etc.
- Deep understanding of warehouse day to day operations
- Provide domain expertise in transportation, warehousing, shipping, and international trade during solution design and implementation
Experience Level 7-16 years Role Lead Functional Consultant Industries Shipping lines, Freight Forwarders, 3PL/4PL Education BE/BTECH/ Postgraduate (Preferred: In operation/Supply Chain Management) Domain experience
- Experienced Logistics Consulting professional specializing in global shipping lines and ocean freight operations.
- Driving digital transformation, operational efficiency, and end-to-end visibility across liner shipping networks.
- Understanding on Export/import process, documentations, custom & compliances, INCO terms, E2E shipping process,
- should relate & understanding of Warehouse/ logistics/shipping terminology etc.
- Deep understanding of warehouse day to day operations
- Provide domain expertise in transportation, warehousing, shipping, and international trade during solution design and implementation
- Lead or support process transformation initiatives including process optimization, automation, and digitization
- End-to-end shipping line operations including vessel scheduling, voyage planning, and service network design
- Container lifecycle management covering equipment planning, repositioning, and depot operations
- Booking management, documentation workflows, and Bill of Lading processes
- Freight rate management, contracts, and surcharge structures (BAF, CAF, demurrage & detention)
General experience
- Candidate should have hands on experience on any Transport management application, warehousing application, Microsoft Word, excel, emailing, Power point presentations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and standards.
- Ability to map business processes to system functionalities
- Experience in requirement gathering, gap analysis, and solution blueprinting
- Strong stakeholder communication and workshop facilitation skills
- Analytical mindset with a focus on process improvement and value realization
- Exposure to IT systems in logistics (TMS/WMS/ERP) or prior involvement in digital transformation initiatives
