[Remote] Administer core OS services (DHCP, DNS, SSH, NTP, etc.) and maintain secure baseline configurations. [Remote] Manage user and group access, privilege escalation, and authentication integrations (e.g., AD/LDAP) in accordance with security policies. [Remote] Patch and update OS packages; plan and execute maintenance windows with minimal service disruption. [Remote] Monitor system health and performance (CPU, memory, disk, network); tune kernel and system parameters as needed. [Remote] Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, including log analysis, service recovery, and root-cause analysis; drive corrective actions. [Remote] Configure and maintain file systems and logical volume management (LVM), including mounts, permissions, and capacity management. [Hybrid] Integrate servers with storage and network services (multipathing, NFS/SMB clients, iSCSI/FC host configuration where applicable) and validate end-to-end connectivity. [Remote] Implement configuration management and automation (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef, shell/Python) to standardize builds and reduce manual effort. [Remote] Harden systems and remediate vulnerabilities, support security scanning, audit evidence, and compliance requirements. [On-site] Rack, cable, and label servers (power, network, and management connections) per data center standards; coordinate port assignments with network teams. [Hybrid] Perform initial physical/remote validation after install (console access, BIOS/firmware checks as applicable, NIC link verification) and hand off to operations. [Hybrid] Perform hardware/console-level troubleshooting and coordinate break/fix with data center or vendor teams when remote remediation is not possible. [Remote] Maintain documentation: build standards, runbooks, diagrams, and CMDB/inventory updates. [Remote] Collaborate with application, SRE/operations, network, and security teams to define requirements and support deployments. #J-18808-Ljbffr
