Lead Instructor/Professor for Mathematics Program (Remote and PT)
At AI Code Academy (formerly Delaware STEAM Academy) , we are thrilled to launch a curiosity-driven, proof-focused mathematics program designed for highly motivated young students. Our math program emphasizes deep mathematical thinking, rigorous proof writing, and creative problem-solving. The program will be offered during both the school year and summer sessions online and in-person formats. We are seeking passionate educators and mentors who are enthusiastic about inspiring the next generation of mathematical thinkers to join our team. Position 1: Mathematics Professor / Lead Instructor (Middle School Math) The Lead Instructor will design and teach a focused curriculum in areas such as number theory, algebra, combinatorics, or geometry. The emphasis is on depth, inquiry, and proof-based learning, rather than competition training or broad topic coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging, proof-based lessons
- Guide students through inquiry-driven exploration and discussion
- Encourage students to develop conjectures and mathematical reasoning
- Provide thoughtful feedback on students’ written work and proofs
- Collaborate with the academic team on curriculum development
Qualifications
- Ph.D. (or near completion) in Mathematics or a related field
- Teaching experience at high school, undergraduate, or math camp level
- Strong commitment to proof-based and inquiry-driven teaching
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and inspire curiosity
- Familiarity with programs such as Mathpath, PROMYS, Ross, or similar is a plus
- Passion for working with young people and guiding them in exploration
- Able to pass a background check
