We are Frima, a video game development studio based in Quebec City and Montreal for over 20 years, bringing together hundreds of passionate talents united by a single ambition: to create unforgettable games across all platforms. Job Description
What your weeks are going to look like Determine and implement the most appropriate technical and conceptual approaches to achieve the project’s vision while adhering to production constraints (technical, budgetary, and time-related); Organize and lead regular meetings with the team to monitor progress, anticipate risks, and verify adherence to deadlines; Monitor the development of deliverables and ensure that standards for quality, consistency, and playability are met; Motivate, guide, and support the direct team by providing coaching through ongoing feedback; Build a relationship of trust with the partner and serve as the primary point of contact within your area of expertise; Participate in project reviews and post-mortems to continuously improve processes and deliverables; Collaborate with the studio-wide Design team to develop and share best design practices.
Qualifications
What we're looking for Bachelor’s degree in video game design or another degree related to the position, combined with experience deemed equivalent; A minimum of five (5) years of experience in game design; Experience as a Lead Game Designer or in a similar role; Proficiency with the Unreal Engine; Excellent understanding of the synergy between game mechanics, narrative, and visuals; Excellent knowledge of the various stages involved in creating a video game and the technical constraints specific to the video game industry; Bilingual (English/French); Willing to travel internationally as needed.
