Company Description

HLC Studio is a boutique residential interior design firm based in California, creating timeless, collected homes - full-service work from concept through installation. We are hiring a Lead Designer to lead projects end-to-end alongside our principal designer. This is a senior creative and project leadership role. The right person can carry a project from initial concept through installation with confidence, partnering with the Founder and Principal Designer at creative milestones and owning the day-to-day execution in between. Role: — Lead 2–3 residential projects end-to-end with principal oversight at creative milestones — Manage project schedules, budgets, and weekly client communication — Develop design concepts, drawings, renderings, and presentation materials — Work with Junior Designer to create full drawing and documentation packages, including millwork and custom details — Lead sourcing across furniture, lighting, materials, and one-of-a-kind pieces — Coordinate with contractors, trades, and vendors to ensure design intent is executed — Lead install days and final styling on assigned projects Qualifications — 5+ years of high-end residential interior design experience, including full-service projects — Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp — Strong understanding of millwork design, construction methods, and trade coordination — Demonstrated ability to lead a project, not just contribute to one — Excellent client communication; able to hold a creative line with care — Sensibility that resonates with our work: layered, restrained, European-inspired — Local to the Central Valley (Fresno/Clovis) preferred; open to relocation or hybrid for the right candidate TO APPLY: Please send the following to [email protected] with the subject line "Lead Designer Application": — Resume — Work samples with a short description of your role on each project — A single PDF with 8–10 inspiration images that speak to your design sense
