Lead Cloud Developer & Solutions Engineer (Salesforce) Remote in the U.S. (Preferred U.S. States- though not a disqualifier-: Eastern or Central Time Zone, AL, CO, CT, FL, GA, IA, IL, MD, MN, OH, OK, PA, TN, TX, VA, WI, WV) Candidates must have the required Salesforce experience and be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis and must not require employer sponsorship for U.S. work authorization now or in the future. ABOUT THE ROLE: Millsapps, Ballinger & Associates (MB&A) is seeking a skilled Lead Cloud Developer & Solutions Engineer to support the design, development, and delivery of Salesforce-based solutions for federal customers. This role combines hands-on Salesforce development with solution engineering, business systems analysis, stakeholder engagement, and technical consultation responsibilities. The ideal candidate is a strong Salesforce developer who enjoys collaborating directly with customers and stakeholders to understand business challenges, translate requirements into scalable technical solutions, and deliver high-quality implementations. While development remains the primary focus of this role, the successful candidate will also contribute to requirements discovery, solution design, platform governance, and technical strategy. This role is designed for a Salesforce professional who wants to remain deeply engaged in development while expanding their influence across the full solution lifecycle, from customer discussions and requirements gathering through architecture participation, implementation, deployment, and support. Develop custom applications, automations, integrations, and user experiences that solve meaningful business challenges. Work across the full software development lifecycle, from discovery and design through implementation, deployment, and support. Collaborate with Architects, Administrators, Developers, Business Analysts, and Project Leaders in an Agile delivery environment. Continue expanding your technical expertise while gaining exposure to architecture and solution engineering practices. Help establish and promote development best practices, reusable frameworks, and delivery standards across MB&A projects and products. YOU WILL: Independently complete and manage assigned tasks in an Agile project environment. Collaborate closely with Business Systems Analysts, Architects, Product Owners, and customer stakeholders to develop scalable Salesforce solutions. Design, develop, test, and deploy Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, OmniStudio, and related platform technologies. Develop custom business logic, automation, integrations, and user experiences that support mission and operational objectives. Build reusable components, frameworks, and patterns that can be leveraged across multiple implementations and projects. Develop and maintain integrations between Salesforce and external systems using APIs and integration best practices. Manage metadata deployments using Git-based source control, Salesforce DX, Copado, VS Code, and other deployment tools. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues involving custom code, integrations, declarative automation, security models, data architecture, and platform configuration. Perform code reviews and contribute to development standards, governance practices, and technical quality initiatives. Support release planning, deployment management, and continuous improvement of development and DevOps processes. Contribute to solution architecture discussions and provide recommendations regarding platform capabilities, scalability, maintainability, and implementation approaches. Support requirements discovery sessions and provide technical guidance during customer workshops and solution discussions. Translate business requirements into technical designs, implementation approaches, and user stories. Assist with backlog refinement, estimation, sprint planning, and Agile delivery activities. Mentor Junior and Associate Developers through technical guidance, peer reviews, and knowledge sharing. Support implementation and configuration of MB&A AppExchange products including ExAM4Enterprise and ExAM4Inspections. Maintain a deep understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities and emerging technologies. YOU HAVE: Ability to develop, test, and deploy Salesforce solutions using both declarative and programmatic platform capabilities. Strong experience with:

Experience developing custom applications, business processes, automation, and integrations within Salesforce. Experience managing metadata deployments using Git-based version control, Salesforce DX, Copado, or similar deployment tools. Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions and implementation plans. Experience participating in Agile software development environments. Experience working on cross-functional teams in a consulting, government, or enterprise environment. 5+ years of Salesforce development experience. Salesforce Platform Developer I Certification. Salesforce Platform App Builder Certification. Critical thinking and analytical skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote environment. Ability to hold Public Trust clearance. YOU MIGHT HAVE: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. Salesforce Administrator Certification. Salesforce Platform Developer II Certification. OmniStudio Developer Certification. OmniStudio Consultant Certification. Salesforce Business Analyst Certification. Experience supporting the Department of Commerce, the Department of Veterans Affairs, or other federal agencies. Experience contributing to solution architecture, platform governance, or technical strategy initiatives. Experience with MB&A products, including ExAM4Enterprise and ExAM4Inspections. Experience supporting federal government customers in a consulting environment.
