Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded Am Law 200 ranked national law firm seeking a 3rd to 7th year Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney to join its California office on a hybrid or remote basis. This opportunity is suited to a defense side litigator who enjoys owning active matters, developing practical case strategy, and serving as a trusted point of contact for clients and carriers across a range of liability disputes. Attorneys can plug into strong infrastructure and consistent workflow while maintaining flexibility across multiple Southern California offices. The Opportunity You will manage a caseload of insurance defense litigation matters, with work that may include general liability and related commercial disputes, and opportunities to support matters involving toxic tort, transportation, and professional liability depending on experience and team needs. Responsibilities include drafting pleadings and motions, taking and defending depositions, managing discovery, preparing for mediation, advising on case evaluation and reporting, and supporting trial preparation as cases progress. Ideal Candidate Profile The firm is seeking a 3rd to 7th year Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney with:
- Active admission to practice law in California
- Approximately 3 to 7 years of litigation experience with meaningful defense side insurance litigation exposure
- Hands on experience with depositions, written discovery, pleadings, and motion practice
- Excellent legal writing skills, including comfort drafting substantive motions and persuasive advocacy briefs
- Strong client service skills, sound judgment, and the ability to run matters with increasing independence

Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this role is 100,000 to 275,000, depending on class year, experience and other relevant factors.
