Infrastructure Engineer (Mid Level, Part Time, Remote US, West Coast preferred)

We're a focused team that values clear thinking and careful work. About the role We are looking for an mid level infrastructure engineer who is comfortable owning their work end to end. You will operate independently most of the time, managing endpoint security, device management, and cloud identity across the company. This is a hands on role with real responsibility from day one. There is no large IT team behind you, so you should be confident making decisions, documenting your work, and asking the right questions when needed. What you'll do

• Administer and improve our Microsoft Intune environment for Windows and macOS devices, including compliance policies, configuration profiles, and application deployment
• Manage Microsoft Defender for Endpoint across the device fleet, including onboarding, remediation of security recommendations, and alert triage
• Support and maintain Entra ID, including conditional access policies, user and device groups, and identity lifecycle tasks
• Assist with Microsoft Sentinel operations such as reviewing incidents, tuning analytics rules, and maintaining log ingestion health
• Handle day to day Azure administration including resource management, Azure Arc connected servers, and monitoring
• Troubleshoot endpoint issues for internal staff and contractors across Windows, macOS, and Linux
• Document procedures, configurations, and runbooks as you go

What we're looking for

• 3 to 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or endpoint engineering
• Strong hands on experience with MDM platforms, with Microsoft Intune strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and the broader Microsoft security stack
• Solid experience with Entra ID and Microsoft 365 administration
• Familiarity with Azure fundamentals including resource groups, RBAC, and Azure Arc
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision and high accountability
• Clear written communication and a habit of documenting your work
• Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft Sentinel or another SIEM
• Linux administration experience, including patch management tools such as Automox
• Exposure to Proxmox, virtualization, or on premises server environments
• Scripting skills in PowerShell or Bash
• Experience supporting contractor or BYOD device fleets
