Industrial-Organizational Psychologist, Talent Assessment Strategy Location: Fully remote Duration: Through December 31, 2026 (Potential Extension) Schedule: Part-Time (~20 hours/week)
About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Industrial-Organizational (I-O) Psychologist to support an enterprise Talent Strategy team responsible for designing and implementing pre-employment assessments that improve hiring decisions across a large, complex organization. This role will focus on assessment strategy, job analysis, validation, psychometrics, and selection processes while partnering with HR, business leaders, and external vendors to deliver fair, legally defensible, and data-driven hiring solutions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct job analyses to develop role-specific, legally defensible selection assessments.
- Design, validate, and implement pre-employment assessments aligned with professional and legal standards.
- Analyze assessment data to evaluate validity, fairness, reliability, and business impact.
- Partner with HR, Talent Strategy, business leaders, and external vendors throughout the assessment lifecycle.
- Translate technical findings into clear recommendations for executive and business stakeholders.
- Maintain documentation supporting validation studies, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage assessment projects from planning through implementation and ongoing evaluation.
- Support interviewer training and best practices for assessment administration.
- Stay current on emerging research, trends, and innovations within Industrial-Organizational Psychology and talent assessment.
Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience designing, validating, and implementing pre-hire assessments.
- Strong expertise in: Job Analysis, Personnel Selection, Psychometrics, Validation Methodologies, Assessment Design
- Experience interpreting assessment data and presenting findings to non-technical audiences.
- Strong project management and stakeholder management experience.
- Knowledge of employment law and professional guidelines related to personnel selection.
- Experience working with external assessment vendors is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
