Role Description This is a full-time, remote role for a Fertility Genetic Counselor. Preference will be given to applicants who are already ABGC certified. The Fertility Genetic Counselor will be responsible for
- Providing individualized guidance on genetic testing and interpretation.
- Counseling patients and families on genetic risk.
- Collaborating with healthcare providers.
- Reviewing patient histories.
- Coordinating genetic tests.
- Analyzing test results.
- Conducting patient consultations.
- Providing comprehensive genetic counseling for fertility and preconception cases, including
- Expanded carrier screening counseling.
- Donor match consults.
- Donor embryo reviews.
- Pre- and post-PGT consults.
- Coordination of family studies genetic testing.
- Providing additional coverage of prenatal care if needed.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
- Conducting ongoing research in the field of genetics.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of genetic testing and genetic inheritance.
- Ability to effectively communicate with healthcare providers and patients.
- Interpretation skills related to genetic testing results and personal/family histories.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Master's degree in Genetic Counseling.
- Certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC).
