Work from home Full-time role Hiring

Job Description

Summary Define and own the global digital standard for purchasing execution across Gas Power Global Supply Chain. This role covers the purchasing cycle from purchase requisition creation through purchase order placement, supplier acknowledgment, and goods receipt. Focused on removing friction, automating routine decisions, and ensuring purchasing workflows are standardized, integrated, and visible across all sites. Partners with Strategic Sourcing on digital tools that connect the transactional and strategic purchasing domains, while owning the execution standard and data quality that planning and operations depend on.

Job Description

Define and own the global digital blueprint for purchasing execution from purchase requisition through goods receipt. Establish the global standard and partner with local purchasing teams to adopt and implement it consistently across all sites. Partner with Strategic Sourcing as the primary interface between transactional purchasing execution and strategic supplier management. This role owns the transactional execution standard; Sourcing owns the supplier relationship, negotiations, and collaboration portal. Partner with the Integrated Planning and Production Planning GPDAs where purchasing execution connects to supply plan signals and production schedule requirements, and with the Warehousing GPDA at the goods receipt boundary to ensure inbound confirmation flows cleanly between purchasing and warehouse management systems. Process Scope, Technology & Digital Technology Partnership Own the digital standard for the full purchasing execution cycle: purchase requisition creation and approval workflows, purchase order release and management, supplier order acknowledgment and confirmation, exception management and expediting, and goods receipt processing. Own the digital standard for lead time management and accuracy: how supplier lead times are captured, validated, and maintained in ERP across all sites. Lead time data quality directly drives planning accuracy and is a shared accountability with the Master Data Governance team. Define and drive automation of routine purchasing decisions: auto-approval of standard requisitions within policy parameters, automated purchase order release from approved purchase requisitions, and exception-based alerting for deviations that require buyer intervention. Partner with Strategic Sourcing on digital tools for supplier collaboration, ensuring transactional data flows, including order confirmations, delivery updates, and capacity signals, integrate cleanly with the supplier portal without creating duplicate workflows. Evaluate and incorporate AI-enabled tools that improve purchasing workflow efficiency in partnership with the New Technology Introduction team. Own the integration standard between purchasing systems and ERP. Partner with the Master Data Governance team to confirm vendor master data, purchasing info records, and lead time parameters align to global data standards before go-live. Co-own application selection and solution design with Digital Technology and the New Technology Introduction team. Site Network, Adoption & Continuous Improvement Build and coordinate a global network of site-level purchasing process owners and subject matter experts who implement and sustain the global standard locally. Lead a formal Community of Practice across purchasing teams to drive standard adoption, share process improvements, and prevent local workarounds from becoming embedded practice. Serve as the primary escalation point when sites diverge from the global standard. Monitor purchasing process outcomes and data quality metrics: purchase order cycle time, lead time accuracy, exception rate, and automation rate as primary measures of standard adoption. Conduct process walks with purchasing teams at each site before deployment to validate readiness. Develop training materials and job aids aligned to the global standard, and support pilot and deployment phases in partnership with the Digital Program Manager. Ensure lessons learned from each site are incorporated into the global standard so every subsequent deployment improves on the last

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related technical field. 7+ years in purchasing, procurement operations, or materials management in an industrial or manufacturing environment, with direct accountability for process standards or operational improvement. Hands-on experience with purchasing execution in ERP environments, including SAP Materials Management or Oracle Procurement, across multi-site manufacturing networks. Proven experience defining process standards and driving adoption across multi-site networks. Experience translating purchasing process requirements into functional specifications for technology teams. Strong influencing and facilitation skills across purchasing, planning, and operations stakeholders. Desired Characteristics: Familiarity with purchasing workflow automation and exception management tools in a manufacturing environment. Experience with lead time management and supplier performance tracking in an ERP context. Exposure to supplier collaboration platforms and how transactional data flows between buyer and supplier systems.
