Frontend Developer (React Native) in the US
Andersen is hiring a Frontend Developer (React Native) in the US for a project developing an AI-powered mobile health platform with personalized nutrition and wellness features. Our customer is a US-based technology startup focused on developing innovative digital solutions in the health and wellness sector. It leverages modern technologies, data-driven insights, and user-centered design to create products that support healthier lifestyles and improve everyday well-being. The project is focused on developing an AI-powered mobile health platform for intelligent calorie tracking, macronutrient monitoring, and personalized meal planning. It leverages AI to deliver tailored nutrition recommendations, helping users achieve their health and wellness goals through a seamless mobile experience. Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining cross-platform features in React Native + TypeScript.
- Integrating the camera and food-recognition pipeline; working with on-device ML inference.
- Connecting HealthKit / Google Fit / Health Connect; syncing health and activity data.
- Writing and maintaining native modules (Swift / Kotlin) when needed.
- Implementing offline mode and data synchronization.
- Optimizing performance (list rendering, large datasets, battery consumption).
- Participating in architectural decisions; choosing approaches and libraries.
- Covering code with tests; setting up and maintaining CI/CD.
- Managing App Store / Google Play releases, reviews, and policies.
Must-haves:
- Commercial React Native experience for 2+ years.
- Strong experience with TypeScript.
- Experience publishing and maintaining apps on the App Store and Google Play.
- Understanding of the native side (at least basic Swift / Kotlin).
- Experience writing/editing native modules.
- Experience integrating device APIs: camera, geolocation, health data, push.
- Knowledge of state management patterns (Redux Toolkit / Zustand) and RN performance optimization.
- Experience with Jest and React Native Testing Library.
- Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.
Nice-to-Have:
- Hands-on experience integrating HealthKit, Google Fit, or Health Connect.
- Experience with on-device ML inference (TensorFlow Lite / Core ML / ML Kit).
- Offline-first architecture experience (WatermelonDB / SQLite, sync).
- Hands-on experience with E2E testing using Detox.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Fastlane, EAS.
- Experience with wearables / health & fitness domain.
