Overview

Apex Leaders custom-recruits industry experts for our private equity firm clients. Through a bespoke process, we research, vet, and connect our clients with the most relevant, skilled advisors so that they can quickly and confidently navigate investment opportunities. We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Frontend Developer who will design, develop, and maintain engaging user interfaces for our cloud-based platforms. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who enjoys collaborating on complex UI/UX challenges, optimizing web performance, and integrating cutting-edge frontend technologies into enterprise workflows to provide a seamless user experience. This is a contract-to-hire position. The role will begin with an initial contract period of 3 or 6 months, after which the candidate will be evaluated for successful conversion to a permanent employee based on performance and business needs. The hourly rate during the initial contract period is $55-$75 per hour. We are open to this position being based at our headquarters in Boise, ID, splitting time working in the office and working remotely, or can be based remotely out of one of the following states: Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, or Wisconsin. What We’re Looking For The Frontend Developer will be responsible for bringing our digital products to life. You will collaborate closely with designers and our backend-leaning full-stack engineers, serving as our dedicated frontend expert to translate requirements into high-quality code. We are looking for someone who can build intuitive interfaces and work to optimize performance across various devices and browsers. Key responsibilities include: Design and develop responsive, accessible, and high-performance user interfaces Create and maintain reusable UI components and frontend libraries Partner with design and product teams to bridge the gap between creative UI/UX design and technical implementation. Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs and services Stay up-to-date with emerging frontend technologies and best practices What You Will Bring Education Bachelor’s degree from an accredited undergraduate institution in computer science or a related field, or relevant equivalent experience Experience 2–5 years of professional software development experience, with a focus on building high-performance frontend applications Proficiency with React or other modern frameworks and JavaScript/TypeScript Experience with CSS preprocessors (Sass/Less) and responsive design Knowledge of frontend build tools and version control (Git) Proven ability to design and implement frontend components that support AI-driven workflows, including intuitive human-in-the-loop feedback mechanisms Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to read backend API code (Express.js, Next.js, or Ruby) to understand data structures, with a preference for candidates comfortable making minor backend adjustments. Experience with frontend testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress, or Vitest) to ensure code reliability. Familiarity with deploying and maintaining applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Experience collaborating with infrastructure and backend teams to ensure frontend performance and scalability. Openness to gaining new skill sets Ability to own features from requirements to deployment within our established agile development lifecycle. Focus on continuous improvement Ability to analyze problems and develop solutions Strong organizational skills with an ability to appropriately prioritize work The Perks Please note: Compensation during the initial contract period will be provided at a competitive hourly rate. The comprehensive benefits and perks listed below are representative of our package for permanent, full-time employees and will become available upon role conversion.
