Job Description
AgileEngine is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design and maintain scalable, secure backend systems that power a high-scale consumer dating platform. The engineer will work with Kotlin and AWS-native services, owning projects end-to-end from architecture to production delivery. The role also involves mentoring junior engineers and contributing to technical standards, with AI-assisted development tools integrated into the engineering workflow.
Requirements
MUST HAVES:
- 5+ years of professional experience in backend Kotlin software engineering;
- 2+ years working with cloud environments, preferably AWS, including deployment and monitoring;
- Proven ability to run projects autonomously and deliver production-ready systems;
- Exposure to secure API design, distributed systems, and microservices architecture;
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization tools like Docker or Kubernetes;
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and observability platforms such as Datadog, Prometheus;
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, inclusive mindset;
- Upper-intermediate English level.
