We're seeking an experienced Ocean Product Development Expert to join our team and drive the growth of our ocean volumes while enhancing the development of our ocean product. As a key member of our team, you'll work closely with our Managing Director of Ocean to support carrier development, pricing, and analysis of carrier service, routings, and performance.

About the Role

As an Ocean Product Development Expert, you'll be responsible for implementing and communicating strategies to increase volumes, maximize competitiveness, and enhance service. You'll work closely with our sales and operations teams to ensure compliance with policies and procedures, minimize company risk exposure, and achieve volume targets. Your expertise will be crucial in driving the success of our ocean product and supporting our sales and operations teams.

• Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement strategies to support the growth of ocean volumes and enhance the development of the ocean product
• Work closely with the Managing Director of Ocean to support carrier development, pricing, and analysis of carrier service, routings, and performance
• Assist in implementing pricing programs and reviewing volume targets to achieve expectations of account development and yield enhancement
• Communicate internally and externally to outline strategy, market conditions, and deliverables to stakeholders, including sales, operations, and customers
• Conduct regular service reviews to ensure agreed-upon KPIs are being met or exceeded
• Gather, analyze, and report information regarding performance and competitive activity, and submit reports as required
• Manage annual budget, control, monitor, and report results on a regular basis to achieve budget targets
• Work closely with marketing to develop external and internal communications specific to the ocean product

Essential Qualifications

• To be successful in this role, you'll need:
• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with at least 8 years of experience in the international freight forwarding industry, including direct ocean experience
• Experience working with ocean contracts, negotiating ocean rates, quoting ocean rates, analyzing ocean rates, and routing
• Prior ocean carrier experience is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Business-oriented with remarkable business acumen
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
