Experienced Labor and Employee Relations Manager – Full Time Remote Opportunity for Strategic Leadership and Collaboration

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Labor and Employee Relations Manager to join our team on a full-time remote basis. As a strategic leader, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing labor relations strategies that promote a positive workplace environment and encourage open communication between management and employees. Your expertise in labor laws, regulations, and best practices will be essential in creating and reviewing policies, designing training programs, and conducting regular assessments of the workplace environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with HR Regional Partners to establish programs that enhance employee morale and encourage feedback and dialogue.
  • Create and review policies and practices that enhance employee relations, ensuring they align with best practices.
  • Design and implement training programs for management on effective communication, conflict resolution, and employee engagement.
  • Develop and execute labor relations strategies that promote a positive workplace environment and encourage open communication between management and employees.
  • Conduct regular assessments of the workplace environment, including monitoring employee sentiment and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Conduct focus groups, develop action plans, reporting, and KPIs, and build dashboards to track progress.
  • Present plans, actions, and strategies to senior leadership, translating complex problems into executive summaries and informing leadership on key issues.
  • Work with TEOA continuous improvement methodology, partnering with other labor relations managers in the region and globally to create a regional standard.
  • Develop and implement strategies to address workplace concerns as they arise, fostering a culture of transparency and support.
  • Participate in contract negotiations, including the development of proposals and bargaining strategies.
  • Represent the company in meetings and negotiations with union leaders and other representatives.
  • Prepare and lead annual negotiations, ensuring law compliance and effective budget administration.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in labor relations or employee relations.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective employee engagement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data related to employee relations and workplace trends.
  • Experience in training and coaching management teams on employee relations issues.
  • Must have an effective balance between strategic and tactical implementation skills.
  • Self-started, able to work independently under minor supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are desirable:

  • Experience working in a global or multinational organization.
  • Knowledge of TEOA continuous improvement methodology.
  • Experience with benchmarking and adopting best practices in labor relations.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% as business needs dictate.
