English Teacher (Grade 9 ELA) – Remote
English Teacher (Grade 9 ELA) – Remote $40–$50 per hour | Part-Time | Remote (Evening Hours PST) We are a U.S.-based education company focused on international education and American-style academic instruction for students in China. We are currently seeking experienced and passionate English teachers to join our remote teaching team. This position focuses on teaching American Grade 9 English Language Arts (ELA) to international high school students through live online classes.
Responsibilities
- Teach Grade 9 American English Language Arts courses in an online classroom environment
- Develop and provide your own curriculum, lesson plans, and instructional materials
- Teach reading comprehension, literary analysis, academic writing, grammar, and class discussion skills
- Create engaging and supportive learning experiences for international students
- Assign and review homework, essays, and classroom assessments
- Maintain professionalism and strong communication with students and academic staff
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder)
- Prior experience teaching international students is required
- Strong understanding of American high school ELA curriculum standards
- Experience teaching Grade 9 English or equivalent secondary-level English courses
- Ability to independently design curriculum and course structure
- Comfortable teaching students whose first language is not English
- Reliable internet connection and professional remote teaching setup
- Able to work evening hours in U.S. Pacific Time due to China-based student schedules
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching license or degree in English, Education, Literature, or related field
- AP, Honors, ESL, or international school teaching experience
- Experience teaching Chinese or Asian international students
- Familiarity with Zoom, Google Classroom, Canvas, or similar platforms
Compensation
- Base pay: $40/hour
- Attendance incentive: $50/hour effective rate for consistent full attendance and reliability
Schedule Most classes are scheduled during:
- U.S. West Coast evening hours (PST/PDT)
- Corresponding to daytime school hours in China
Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour Work Location: Remote
