Director of Philanthropy & Grants

Our client, a highly respected non-profit organization dedicated to community betterment, is seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Philanthropy & Grants to lead their fundraising and grant-seeking efforts. This fully remote position is ideal for a strategic leader who can inspire donors, cultivate relationships, and secure the financial resources necessary to advance the organization's mission. You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies, managing grant proposals, and overseeing donor relations across various platforms. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for individual giving, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and foundation relations. Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with potential and current donors, including major gift prospects. Lead the grant writing process, including researching grant opportunities, developing compelling proposals, and managing reporting requirements. Oversee the development and execution of fundraising campaigns, events, and appeals. Manage the donor database and ensure accurate tracking of all donor interactions and contributions. Collaborate with the board of directors and staff to engage them in fundraising activities. Analyze fundraising performance data and provide regular reports on progress towards goals. Stay informed about trends and best practices in philanthropy and non-profit management. Develop and manage the annual fundraising budget. Build and maintain strong relationships with foundation program officers and corporate social responsibility contacts. Ensure all fundraising activities comply with ethical standards and relevant regulations. Recruit, train, and manage fundraising staff and volunteers as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Non-profit Management, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred. 7+ years of progressive experience in non-profit fundraising, with a strong emphasis on major gifts and grant writing. Proven success in developing and executing successful fundraising strategies that meet or exceed goals. Demonstrated ability to cultivate and solicit major gifts from individuals and foundations. Exceptional writing, editing, and oral communication skills, with a talent for persuasive storytelling. Strong understanding of grant research, proposal development, and reporting requirements. Proficiency with donor management software (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce for Nonprofits). Excellent organizational, project management, and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
