Position Summary: The Digital Media Strategist serves as the primary digital partner to assigned Northwestern Media radio stations, owning the strategy, execution, and outcomes of multi-channel audience engagement. This role translates each station's audience insights, ministry goals, and market dynamics into effective digital campaigns across social, email, web, SMS, and app platforms — driving measurable growth and meaningful listener connection. The Digital Media Strategist will utilize strategic judgment, strong station relationships, and consistent delivery of impactful digital results to support and further the mission of Northwestern Media. This position is based in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. Remote work may be considered for qualified candidates based on business needs and role requirements. Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Ownership: Oversee digital strategy and performance outcomes for assigned stations, translating audience insights, ministry goals, and market dynamics into effective multi-channel campaigns across email, social, web, SMS, and app platforms.
  • Campaign Leadership: Lead campaign direction and execution in collaboration with station stakeholders, defining content strategy, messaging priorities, and channel strategy while coordinating timelines, workflows, and cross-functional delivery.
  • Performance Optimization: Serve as a strategic partner and performance driver, interpreting metrics and trends, optimizing engagement strategies, and guiding stations toward data-informed growth opportunities.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate strong, trust-based relationships with station teams to develop a deep understanding of each station’s audience, brand voice, seasonal rhythms, and growth priorities, enabling proactive and responsive strategy.
  • Innovation & Testing: Champion a “test-and-learn" culture in partnership with stations, advancing innovative ideas, evaluating outcomes, and scaling successful approaches.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications: Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, digital media, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in digital marketing, content strategy, social media, or a related field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience developing or contributing to multi-channel campaign strategies
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with multiple stakeholders simultaneously
  • Maintain a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, reflect His character in all interactions, and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern's mission, Doctrinal Statement and Declaration of Christian Community

Nice To Have:

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple accounts, clients, or business units simultaneously
  • Experience in Christian media, radio, or ministry-adjacent organizations

  • Written & Verbal Communication: Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
  • Digital Media Trends: Understanding of digital trends in content, social media, and audience engagement.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Travel: Willingness and ability to travel occasionally for work-related purposes.
  • Driver’s License: Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Background Check: Must pass initial and ongoing background checks as a condition of employment.
